May house block
May’s house reminds me of Mother’s Day in the prints, and lovely May flowers like the peonies that bloom at my mom’s house, and there are hearts in the sky and maypole dancers at the door.

Happy March house
The March house has happy green shamrocks and leprechauns and sweet lambs running in the meadow and funny St. Patrick’s Day dogs, and the sky is a rainbow. 😄
Valentine quilt
This heart quilt was made sometime around 2002 I think. The retro repro die-cut hearts came from Keepsake Quilting in two packages of 40 (so I had to cut a few to make 83 total). I loved the die-cut hearts but for the longest time did not know what to do with them or how to appliqué them. Finally I saw a technique where you sew the heart to another heart, right sides facing, then clip and turn inside out, then sew it down on the sewing machine. So no raw edges. This worked ok. Not great, but ok. It does give the hearts some weight and makes them stand out. I quilted in the ditch, and didn’t know how to quilt the borders, so they haven’t been overall quilted, just in the ditch. But the poly batting said the quilting could be wide-spaced. Maybe some day I will quilt some hearts in the borders. The red and pink fabric maybe came from Joann fabric. I love it!!! The back is the same solid pink as the first inner strips of the border. February house block
I love the February house with the conversation heart fabric and the lovely colors in the geometric pink roof and the little pink piggy pigs in the frosty sky. And all the folk hearts and hot pink leopard print fabric. Back when I was a journalist I interviewed the guy who came up with new candy heart slogans at the Necco factory, and he said “sweet talk” was his all-time favorite. Those were good days when I had a real job.
January house block
The January house block has snow and cozy cups of tea and coffee. I made these house blocks one at a time month by month in 2019 but then never got them put together into a quilt but I intend to soon! 😄
Tiny quilt with a cute dog
Someone had a cute 3-piece bedroom set for sale cheap on eBay. It came with the dog and book. It had ugly bedding. I ripped it off and put on this little quilt. 🤣
