This heart quilt was made sometime around 2002 I think. The retro repro die-cut hearts came from Keepsake Quilting in two packages of 40 (so I had to cut a few to make 83 total). I loved the die-cut hearts but for the longest time did not know what to do with them or how to appliqué them. Finally I saw a technique where you sew the heart to another heart, right sides facing, then clip and turn inside out, then sew it down on the sewing machine. So no raw edges. This worked ok. Not great, but ok. It does give the hearts some weight and makes them stand out. I quilted in the ditch, and didn’t know how to quilt the borders, so they haven’t been overall quilted, just in the ditch. But the poly batting said the quilting could be wide-spaced. Maybe some day I will quilt some hearts in the borders. The red and pink fabric maybe came from Joann fabric. I love it!!! The back is the same solid pink as the first inner strips of the border. The next pink is a neat quilt shop fabric that I love lov...
